SLADA Establishes Sri Lanka’s First Registered Testing Pool (RTP)

Today, the Sri Lanka Anti-Doping Agency (SLADA) officially announced the establishment of Sri Lanka’s first-ever Registered Testing Pool (RTP).
As part of this milestone initiative, an intensive educational session was conducted for the selected athletes, focusing on the RTP framework, Whereabouts requirements and the importance of upholding the highest standards of integrity in sport.
The RTP athletes were selected in accordance with international guidelines, with consideration given to athletes who have strong medal potential for the upcoming Asian Games 2026 and Commonwealth Games 2026.
A total of 11 athletes have been included in the inaugural RTP.
1. Rumesh Tharanga- Javelin
2. Samitha Dulan PLY- Para Javelin
3. Nethmi Ahinsa- Wrestling
4. Palitha Bandara PLY- Para Discus throw & Shot Put
5. Dilhani Lekamge OLY- Javelin
6. Viren Nettasinghe OLY- Badminton
7. Janani Dhananjana PLY- Para Jumps
8. Kalinga Kumarage- 400m
9. Nipuni Wasana- Wrestling
10. Supun Somathilake- Weightlifting
11. Sandu Jayawardena- Weightlifting
The pool will be active from 1st of July 2026 for a period of one year. Throughout this period, SLADA will work closely with these athletes, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their highest sporting performance while maintaining their commitment to clean sport.
